The Gruffalo joining Chessington in 2017

Chessington World of Adventures has now confirmed that The Gruffalo will be joining the theme park in 2017, which follows months of speculation and recent clues.

The Gruffalo, who's known as one of the UK's best-loved children's book characters, has recently been spotted at Chessington World of Adventures. Standing at a whopping seven feet tall, with purple prickles all over his back and a poisonous wart at the end of his nose, The Gruffalo has made quite the entrance at the park.

The towering figure, located on the Wild Wood lawn at the park, is causing a frenzy amongst children and parents alike, who have begun speculating about what the new arrival signifies for Chessington World of Adventures

Families will be kept in suspense a little longer to find out what The Gruffalo’s arrival means for the park in 2017 as the big reveal isn't set until the New Year.

Tim Harrison-Jones, Divisional Director at Chessington World of Adventures, says:

"We are absolutely thrilled to introduce The Gruffalo to Chessington World of Adventures Resort. He's causing quite a stir with guests already with his imposing character and notable features. Kids and parents alike have been excited to see him appear at Chessington and we can’t wait to reveal yet more Gruffalo news in 2017! Watch this space!"

The Gruffalo previously appeared at Chessington World of Adventures as part of their Christmas event Chessington Winter’s Tail in 2014, performing in a live show followed by meet and greets afterwards.

With over 40 rides and attractions in 10 themed lands, a Zoo and SEA LIFE centre with over 1000 animals, Chessington World of Adventures offers a world of excitement for the whole family.
