New Theme Park Coming to Stonehenge

The ancient and historical location of Stonehenge in the Salisbury plain is going to have a new attraction that could overshadow the thousands of year old stones. An American businessman with roots to the UK has recently submitted planning to build a brand new 42 acre theme park right next to the Stonehenge tourist attraction.

The star attraction will be the Stonehenge Big One roller coaster and will be modelled on the same principle of Blackpool’s biggest ride standing at 213 ft in height and a top speed of 74 mph. The gigantic Stonehenge roller coaster should be seen for at least 30 miles from its location and will block out all sunlight to the famous rocks.

We recently conducted a survey with some of the visitors to Stonehenge and 98% of them expressed an interest in a theme park to liven up the atmosphere of the dull tourist attraction. You can only walk round the rocks so many times and take so many photographs before boredom sets in. As Salisbury plain is in a very remote area there needs to be something else to entice the visitors and to keep them there for the day spending money.

We looked at many options and the only one that stands out from an income and visitor perspective would be a theme park. We are aware of the outstanding beauty of Salisbury Plain and we will do our best to make sure that the theme park is in keeping with the surrounding area.

The theme park will cater for all ages with different rides depending on the visitors taste and adrenaline needs. Some of the many rides to be in the final build could include:

  • 220 ft High Roller Coaster
  • Drop Tower
  • Log Flume
  • FlowRider
  • Tanning Booths
  • Cliffhanger
  • Various themed Pubs & Bars
  • Hot Air Ballooning
  • Vertical Boost
  • Amusement Arcades
  • 2,000 Seater Restaurant

The expected opening times of the park will be from 8am to 11pm on weekdays and 24/7 opening at the weekends starting from the Friday night. Entrance to the theme park will be included in the price of walking around the stones and the new theme park should create 200 jobs for the impoverished area.
