Joseph asks: Is it true that Pirate Adventure is having a refurbishment over the winter and are there any other surprises at Drayton Manor for 2009?
Drayton Manor says...
There is nothing being done to Pirate Adventure. Our new addition for 2009 is The Curse of Skull Rock 4D, this new £1m 152-seat attraction uses the latest in technology and film content to ensure the ultimate cinema experience. The 4D theatre allows the audience to watch a movie in 3D while seated in specially designed chairs, which react to scenes in the film, including moving up and down, vibrating and releasing sprays of water and bursts of air. The combination of these 4D simulation seats, along with a high definition projection system and special effects lighting, will ensure that visitors experience a greater sense of interaction with the film compared to a regular cinema. There will also be a Thomas the Tank Engine Exhibition in Farmer McColls Farm, which is near to the park’s zoo.
