Jaime and Lois Winstone, Alice Dellal, Dizzee Rascal, Lemar, Tinchy Stryder, Danny Dyer, Mat Horne, Brendon Cole, Chantelle Houghton, Gary Lucy, David Gandy, Chloe Madley, Jennie Falconer, Lady Sovereign, Bill Bailey, Matt Littler & Darren Jeffries (Max and OB from Hollyoaks) spent last night screaming in terror at the launch of Thorpe Park’s newest and most shocking attraction, SAW Alive. New for 2010: SAW Alive
Guests also enjoyed SAW - The Ride, the world’s most terrifying rollercoaster which has a nerve-shredding ‘beyond vertical’ drop of 100° from a staggering height of 100ft.
Opening to the public on 18th March, SAW Alive is based on the most successful horror film franchise in history, SAW, and is a bloody, intense and psychological live experience that will make visitors feel as though they are living in a real-life horror film.
Celebrities experienced six different traps depicting the most grisly and iconic scenes from the six SAW films released to date re-enacted in SAW Alive in realistic detail and experienced: - Real shocks in the electric corridor
- Terrifying special effects simulating the feeling of being shot
- Putrid smells of urine and embalming fluid throughout
Those entering experience an atmosphere of terror where their nerves are pushed to the absolute limit, both from a psychological and sensory point of view, with a series of macabre sights as many hapless victims meet their gruesome end.
The attraction also features an innovative ‘electric corridor’ which gives out real shocks to guests, terrifying special effects that simulate the feeling of being shot and lighting and audio effects to make you feel like you as if you are being decapitated by a swinging, razor-sharp pendulum.
The attraction is designed to set the heart racing and disturb the mind, but is also an attack on the senses as guests endure smells of urine, o-zone and embalming fluid as the ‘signature stenches’ of the various traps. The foul smells are combined with the blood-curdling and piercing screams of a real life horror film.
Mike Vallis, Divisional Director of Thorpe Park comments, SAW Alive is a totally unique attraction and like nothing else available in the world. The terrifying live experience has been designed to make guests feel as though they are living their worst nightmares in a real-life horror film. We have really pushed the boundaries with what this experience entails and believe it is the most extreme theme park attraction available. We challenge those who think they are brave enough to give it a go!
