Swarm hits Thorpe Park

TV presenter and model, Chloe Madeley, joined forces with a troop of uniformed soldiers at Thorpe Park, for an explosive photo shoot to celebrate the start of the eight-month build of the UK’s first ever winged rollercoaster, newly named as The Swarm.

New for 2012: The Swarm

The blonde bombshell donned an eye-catching military-inspired ensemble and was given a helping hand by British soldiers as she posed with a giant dynamite-plunger to blow up the site where The Swarm will be built on its own island.

Arriving exclusively at Thorpe Park in spring 2012, the terrifying new rollercoaster will take thrill-seekers on a death-defying flight through apocalyptic devastation with a unique head-first 127 foot inverted drop. As the UK’s first ever winged rollercoaster riders will have nothing above or below them, which means they are completely exposed to extreme near misses and gut-wrenching inversions, as The Swarm rips through the sky on its merciless mission of total annihilation.

At the launch, Chloe commented:
I’ve always been a bit of an adrenaline-junkie, so to be here today helping to launch the UK’s first ever winged rollercoaster is pretty spectacular. It’s been great fun being perched on top of a dynamite plunger, and I’m loving the support from the boys.

The Swarm
will be installed on a brand new island adjacent to the park’s iconic rollercoaster, Stealth and has been designed by Swiss manufacturers, Bolliger & Mabillard.
