Clacton Pier is preparing for a jam-packed autumn season, with final plans now underway for its annual Halloween celebration alongside a host of other events.
The attraction's popular spooktacular festival will run for nine days over the half-term holidays, from October 24 to November 1, offering a mix of seasonal entertainment and family-friendly frights.
Early bird tickets for the Frightfully Fun Band are available now, offering a 30 per cent saving for visitors who purchase by September 20, reducing the price from £25 down to £17.50.
Pier general manager Harry Peek highlighted a busy upcoming period for the team, with three major seasonal events filling the calendar.
"Oktoberfest kicks off this weekend and then Clacton Fear begins in mid-October followed hot on the heels by our very special Halloween Festival," he said.
"There is going to be something for all ages and tastes and we are sure all three will deliver on every level. Halloween seems to have grown tremendously in this country over recent years and we want to give our visitors a ghoulishly great time. Everywhere around the site will be decorated and it will be a chance for people to dress up in their favourite costumes."
Spooky Family Fun
Visitors can expect plenty of seasonal touches across the pier, including approximately 2,000 pumpkins ordered for the Pumpkin Patch located at the front of the attraction. Meanwhile, Sidney the Seagull will entertain younger guests with a revamped live stage show outside the Boardwalk.
The popular Creepy-Crawly Cabin, first introduced in 2024, is returning with an extended layout. It will house an array of creatures such as scorpions, spiders, giant African land snails, thorny stick insects, giant millipedes, and hissing cockroaches. An all-new live-action scary walk-through experience is also scheduled to be announced shortly.
The Frightfully Fun Band ticket package includes one entry each to the Creepy-Crawly Cabin and Pumpkin Patch, admission to the Ghost Train: 4D, unlimited rides, 18 holes of Adventure Golf, and five video game credits. Halloween attractions will be open daily from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm during the half-term week.
Oktoberfest Celebrations
Before the Halloween festivities begin, the pier's free-to-attend Oktoberfest celebration gets underway this weekend. Running across weekends on September 19-20, September 26-27, and concluding on October 3-4, the event opens at midday on each of the six days.
Guests can enjoy live performances from the Ein Kleine Oompah Band, the Fabulous Tailfeathers, and new acts inside a large marquee at the front of the attraction. Food and drink offerings include authentic German beers and speciality brews served from a dedicated bar, alongside a larger swing grill serving bratwurst, pretzels, and other favourites.
