New for 2009: SAW - The Ride

Saw - The Ride : 2009 Coaster : Thorpe ParkThorpe Park have unleashed a thrilling new roller coaster for 2009,
bringing a totally new and terrifying experience to the theme park:

  • Type - Euro-Fighter (similar to Speed at Oakwood)
  • Features - A 100ft and 100º ‘beyond vertical’ drop
  • Inversions - 3 (Zero-G Roll, Immelmann Loop, Dive Loop)
  • Theming - Based on the lengendary SAW horror movies
  • Manufacture - The famous German specialist Gerstlauer
  • Design - British designer John Wardley was involved
  • Location - Constructed on it's own island near Samurai
  • Opening - The new ride opened on 14th March 2009

Thorpe Park Waterside Hotel

Thorpe Park have applied for planning permission for a new waterside hotel with 250 rooms, several restaurants & bars, conference facilities and a health club. The park plan to build the hotel on a site next to the car park. There would be new landscaping, a 375 space car park and there are also plans for a special boat service linking the hotel to the theme park.

Other Plans

Planning documents submitted to the local council in 2003 outline what the park had planned over the coming years, however plans change so not all of these ideas may actually materialise -

  • 2010/2011 - Treasure Island (including 3 rides)
  • 2011/2012 - Fantasy Island/Runaway Train (new ride and play zone)
  • 2012/2013 - Haunted House
  • 2013/2014 - Bobsleigh Ride (south of dome)
  • 2016/2018 - Replacement of X:\ No Way Out
