Rides & Attractions at Alton Towers

Alton Towers is made up of 10 distinct themed lands. Here is an overview of each, including the rides and attractions you will find within them.

Towers Street

As you step into the park, you will find yourself surrounded by a variety of shops and cafes, making it an ideal place to enjoy a bite to eat or grab souvenirs. This is also a main hub for the Skyride, which can transport you to Forbidden Valley or over to the Dark Forest, offering spectacular views of the gardens along the way.

CBeebies Land

The ultimate destination for young families, CBeebies Land brings beloved characters to life. New for 2026 is Bluey The Ride: Here Come the Grannies!, the world's first Bluey-themed roller coaster. Other favourites include the Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure, Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom Ride, and the In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride. Children can also explore Hey Duggee’s Big Adventure Badge and JoJo & Gran Gran At Home.

Forbidden Valley

This post-apocalyptic landscape is the premier destination for thrill-seekers. It is home to Nemesis Reborn, the legendary inverted coaster that saw a total transformation in 2024. Nearby, you will find Toxicator, the park’s intense Top Spin ride added in 2025, and the terrifying Nemesis Sub-Terra. For those who want to soar, Galactica offers a unique flying sensation, while The Blade provides classic swinging thrills.

Dark Forest

Discover an area of unexplored woodland where mysterious forces haunt the trees. This area features Rita, a high-speed hydraulic launched coaster that catapults you into the forest, and TH13TEEN, the world’s first 'psychoaster' which features a startling vertical free-fall drop inside an ancient crypt.

X-Sector

The futuristic, high-security X-Sector is home to world-class thrill rides. Brave The Smiler, the world-record holder for the most inversions on a roller coaster with 14 loops. You will also find the iconic Oblivion, the world's first vertical drop coaster. Just remember: don't look down!

Mutiny Bay

This pirate-themed family area is home to Wicker Man, the UK’s first new wooden roller coaster in 21 years, which famously incorporates real fire effects. Families can also enjoy Battle Galleons, explore the underwater wonders of Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE, or take a spin on Marauder’s Mayhem and the rock-n-tug boat ride, Heave Ho.

Gloomy Wood

A spooky corner of the park where ghosts and ghouls await. The centrepiece is The Curse at Alton Manor, a haunting dark ride that takes you on a hair-raising journey through a possessed Victorian mansion. For a chilling stroll, take a shortcut through Haunted Hollow, but keep an eye out for the headless statues.

Katanga Canyon

Explore this African-themed settlement with its dramatic rocky landscape and water features. You can race through the canyon on the Runaway Mine Train or prepare for a soaking on the Congo River Rapids as you navigate the turbulent waterfalls.

The World of David Walliams

This whimsical area brings David Walliams’ most popular stories to life. Join the heist of the century on Gangsta Granny: The Ride, or enjoy family-friendly fun on Raj’s Bouncy Bottom Burp, the Royal Carousel, and Flavio’s Fabulous Fandango.

The Towers & Gardens

At the heart of the resort lie the gothic ruins of the actual Alton Towers. Inside, you can experience Hex – The Legend of the Towers, a mind-bending 'madhouse' ride based on a dark local legend.
