Make the most of your family adventure with these expert tips for Chessington:
- 🎢 Ride strategy for families: Start with Mandrill Mayhem and Vampire before 11am. For younger children, head to The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure, Room on the Broom, and Zufari: Ride into Africa early.
- 📱 Download the official app: Real-time queue times, interactive map, mobile food ordering, and virtual queuing for selected rides (free).
- 🍔 Best dining spots: Smokehouse BBQ & Bar (12-hour smoked meat) or Pizza Pasta Buffet in Adventure Point, or pack a picnic – designated picnic area near the Zoo entrance.
- 🐘 Zoo & SEA LIFE tips: Visit the zoo early morning (animals most active) or late afternoon (quieter). Don't miss the penguin feeding at 1:30pm.
- 📏 Height restrictions: Mandrill Mayhem (1.2m), Vampire (1.2m), Dragon's Fury (1.1m). There are plenty of rides for under 1m in Land of the Dragons.
- 👟 What to bring: Rain jackets (some rides are outdoors), comfortable walking shoes, refillable water bottles (free water refill stations), suncream, and a change of clothes for younger kids (Zufari can get splashy).
- 🏨 Stay overnight: Chessington Azteca Hotel or Safari Hotel (with animal views!) offer early ride access (30 minutes before general public) and breakfast packages.
🎁 Money-saving tip: Check for Tesco Clubcard or Blue Light Card discounts.
👶 Special note for younger families: Height check stations are located throughout the park. Use the Rider Swap system so adults can take turns on bigger rides without queuing twice.
