New themed area Adventure Cove at Drayton Manor in 2021

Drayton Manor has announced a new nautical-themed area opening at the park in 2021 with a whole host of improvements and updated attractions.

Adventure Cove is a nautical-themed zone for the whole family to enjoy, with fun additions to some of the park’s most-loved family-favourites, and a selection of new rides and attractions.

The new area is set to have a bright and colourful coastal feel, with barrels, boats and ship's wheels aplenty. It replaces the area previously known as Action Park.

The first of many attractions to be announced is the River Rapids ride. The young and young-at-heart will be taken on a journey through a cartoon-style fishing port in a new 9-person boat around a rapids course, past vibrant painted shacks and seafarers. This replaces the former Splash Canyon water ride.

The station of the Shockwave roller coaster has been painted in a vibrant rainbow of colours, bringing a fresh and fun atmosphere to the area. A riveting light-house rescue mission awaits guests on Stormforce 10 in this wild, white-knuckle ride like no other. Fans will be thrilled with the painting of the iconic tower, creating a dramatic view over the lake.

Popular thrill rides Maelstrom and Air Race will also be part of the new area.

The new Adventure Cove area is set to open in stages from spring 2021, with more attractions to be announced in due course. The exciting development is the first investment phase of new owners, Looping Group, which aims to introduce new elements to the park’s family-friendly offering.

Elsewhere in the park, and also new for 2021, the 4D Cinema will now be home to Thomas & Friends 4D Bubbling Boilers. When Thomas crashes into an old mine, he experiences the ride of his life! Join Thomas & Friends in this thrilling 4D adventure, opening summer 2021.

William Bryan, managing director at Drayton Manor, said:

“We are so excited to welcome visitors back to the park, and introduce them to Adventure Cove this summer! We’ve been busy behind the scenes while the park has been closed, and we’re really pleased with how the new area is looking already and can’t wait to see it finished. We are working closely with our local contractors and are hugely grateful to both them and the support of Looping Group for this new development. It’s especially exciting for us to the be able to launch the new Adventure Cove area, along with number of new rides and attractions for families and coaster fans alike. We look forward to welcoming guests back to enjoy a summer of fun and seafaring adventures at Drayton Manor.”
