New Adventures at Chessington in 2016

2016 is set to be an exciting year at Chessington World of Adventures, with the introduction of Explorer Glamping, a new ride and a high ropes course.

There will be plenty of new adventures for families to enjoy in 2016, as Chessington World of Adventures continues to add new experiences. In addition to the existing Safari Hotel and Azteca Hotel, an alternative accommodation option comes in the form of Explorer Glamping. A much-needed new ride is also coming to the theme park, along with a high ropes course for the resort.

Situated in a field next to Wild Asia, the new Explorer Glamping site will include:

  • 31 standard tents, complete with a double bed and 2 singles
  • 4 premium tents, for a little bit of extra luxury
  • A themed family restaurant

Explorer Glamping will be available from May until October, via a dedicated entrance near the Explorer Gate, and with direct access to Wild Asia. The experience will be similar to Mediaeval Glamping at Warwick Castle, which offers fully set-up ready to sleep in tents with wooden flooring, a double bed with mattress plus 2 single beds with mattress (linen bedding including duvets, pillows and sheet provided), free WiFi, power sockets, lighting, stools and a table.

Although the details are still a closely guarded secret, a brand new ride will be opening at Chessington World of Adventures in 2016, located in the area between Wild Asia and Mystic East.

If that wasn't enough, following the success of the Enchanted Tree Top Quest at Alton Towers, a new high ropes course is coming to Chessington World of Adventures in 2016. After a full safety briefing, guests will be able to navigate various walkways and obstacles, then zipwire down to the ground.

There will be both an adult course and a junior course, starting from a 16m tall start tower and ending with a 150m long zip wire. The adult course will take up to 3 hours to complete, with the junior course taking up to 1 hour.

As the new attraction will be located in woodland on the far side of the grass car park, a shuttle will be available from the resort hotels on the other side of the theme park. It will be operated by Go Ape and charged separately from theme park admission.
