Gulliver's Valley Theme Park Approved

Gulliver's Theme Parks has been granted planning permission for a new £37 million family theme park resort in Yorkshire which is slated to open in 2020.

The developer already has three theme parks; Gulliver's Kingdom in Matlock Bath, Gulliver's Land in Milton Keynes and Gulliver's World in Warrington. Themed areas at these parks include Alice's WonderlandWestern World, Smugglers WharfLilliput LandWater WorldGully TownAdventure LandDiscovery Bay and Toy Land.

The 333-acre site has been purchased from Rotherham Council, and building work will start this year. Gulliver's Valley is expected to create 255 full-time equivalent jobs in addition to the significant employment benefits during construction.

When complete, it will include a theme park, woodland adventure centre, ecology and education centre, ‘glamping’ and woodland lodges, a hotel and holiday village. The first phase will be the theme park, taking around two years. This will include a similar mix of rides, attractions, shows and experiences popular at other Gulliver’s parks, aimed primarily at children up to 13.

Gulliver's Theme Parks are home to resident characters Gully & Gilly Mouse. Each theme park includes many rides and attractions such as roller coasters, log flumes and pirate ships.

We’re really excited at the prospect of realising our dreams at Gulliver’s Valley and reproducing all the best elements of our existing three UK parks together on one site. We want to create a ‘whole park feel’, with nature trails, walks, outdoor gyms and woodland runs which can be used by our guests and the local community alike. Plus, of course, the family theme park hub, which will be developed and operated in line with our core value of providing great value family days out that are big on fun.Julia Dalton - Managing Director, Gulliver’s Theme Parks
