Alton Towers Resort Reveals New Scare Maze 'Final Exhibit' for Scarefest 2026

Alton Towers Resort has officially revealed its line-up for Scarefest 2026, headlined by a brand-new scare maze named Final Exhibit.

The UK’s largest theme park resort promises to immerse brave visitors in a sinister world of fear when the annual Halloween event returns from Saturday 26 September to Sunday 1 November 2026.

Step Inside 'Final Exhibit'

In the newly announced maze, guests will step into what initially appears to be a grand exhibition displaying newly uncovered Alton Towers artefacts. However, the tour takes a dark turn as visitors are drawn into the hidden archive of The Curator, a terrifying character obsessed with preserving the past.

Inside the experience, guests will face The Archivists, a silent workforce of hypnotised servants who carry out The Curator's sinister commands in search of fresh items for his display. Visitors soon learn that the collection contains far more than mere historical objects. Those who cannot find a way out risk being turned into living exhibits, trapped inside the archive for eternity.

Speaking about the upcoming attraction, Howard Ebison, Vice President of Alton Towers Resort, said:

"Inspired by the rich history of Alton Towers, Final Exhibit will be a scare maze like no other. Guests will come face-to-face with truly terrifying characters and finally uncover the long-hidden Alton Towers Resort archives - revealing unimaginable secrets alongside our returning favourite scare attractions.

"It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned thrillseeker, or this is your first Scarefest - there’s something for everyone this Halloween."

Returning Thrills & Intense Scare Mazes

Alongside the new addition, Alton Towers has confirmed the return of several popular adult scare mazes for 2026:

  • COMPOUND: Guests descend into the unsettling depths of a secretive scientific facility, becoming unwilling participants in a twisted experiment.
  • The Edge of the Forest: Brave visitors venture beneath an eerie canopy while lost souls warn of the Leshwall, a sinister spirit that invades the minds of all who cross its path.
  • Altonville Mine Tours: Tiny’s Revenge: The abandoned mines reopen as the former resident, Tiny, continues to evade justice and haunt the dark, twisted tunnels.

Free-Flowing Outdoor Scare Zones

Thrillseekers can also experience two returning outdoor scare zones across the park:

  • Dark Hollow: A free-flowing outdoor attraction expanding the story of TH13TEEN within the Dark Forest, where a haunting presence watches every move and lures victims deeper into the shadows.
  • Burial Ground: Plunging guests into the terrifying domain of The Unchosen, a cult of outcasts rejected by Wicker Man who live by their own rules between the living and the dead.

Spooky Family Attractions

For younger guests and families seeking lighter Halloween fun, two walkthrough experiences are set to return:

  • Trick O' Treat Town: A vibrant walkthrough where children can knock on doors down Spooky Avenue and explore the Witchy Woods.
  • Amigos in the Afterlife: A colourful, festive world where cheerful spirits guide families on a quest to navigate back to the land of the living.
