Spooky Spectacular returns at West Midlands Safari Park, with a brand-new Torchlight Tours feature

West Midlands Safari Park is preparing to unleash its spookiest season yet as Spooky Spectacular returns with a host of brand-new attractions and nocturnal experiences.

Running from 10 October to 1 November 2026, the annual event promises a monster mashup of Halloween entertainment, family-friendly thrills and spooky surprises throughout the park.

The park will be fully transformed into a Halloween haven complete with eerie decorations, atmospheric lighting and a cast of monstrous characters greeting guests across the site.

Leading the entertainment line-up is the return of Patch’s Pumpkin Party, where the popular pumpkin-headed scarecrow takes to the stage for a lively live show packed with music, dancing and thrills. Visitors can also spot mischievous monsters Frankie and Mitzy during their daily walkabouts along the Discovery Trail, offering plenty of fun character interactions and photo opportunities.

Brand-New Torchlight Tours

For those brave enough to explore after dark, 2026 introduces an all-new evening attraction: Torchlight Tours: The Dinosaur Experiment.

Departing in small groups, guests will venture into the Land of the Living Dinosaurs armed with only a torch to guide their path. As prehistoric creatures loom in the darkness, strange and mysterious characters will guide explorers through the trail to uncover what awaits around each turn.

The new tours will run on selected dates between 17 October and 1 November, with time slots departing every 15 minutes from 4:00pm.

Bethan Davis, Senior PR & Events Executive at West Midlands Safari Park, said:

"Spooky Spectacular is always one of our favourite times of year, and this year we wanted to add even more atmosphere and adventure for our guests. From meeting charismatic characters such as Mitzy and Frankie and joining Patch’s Pumpkin Party live show, to hunting for movie monsters and getting creative with our spooky crafts, there’s plenty to keep families entertained throughout the day.

"We’re particularly excited to introduce our brand-new Torchlight Tours. Families will be taken into the Land of the Living Dinosaurs after dark, with just their torches to light the way, meeting a whole host of strange characters along the way. The tours will bring a completely different atmosphere to the dinosaur trail. The event will be spooky, mysterious and a lot of fun!"

Family Entertainment and Halloween Treats

Younger monster hunters can take part in the Movie Monsters Trail across the Discovery Trail, following clues to find classic movie monsters and earn a sweet treat upon completion.

The park will also feature hands-on creative fun at the Crazy Craft Club, a giant pumpkin photo point, and the Potion Pursuit Competition, giving guests the chance to win an overnight stay for five people in one of the park's luxury Rhino Safari Lodges.

Seasonal food and beverage options will be available throughout the event, featuring themed items such as Frankie’s green bun burger, Mitzy’s bubble waffles, and Patch’s spooky spicy pizza alongside hot beverages and autumn favourites.

Night Rides and Drone Show

Thrill-seekers can head over to the Adventure Theme Park, which will remain open into the evening on selected dates for rides after dark.

The Halloween celebrations reach a finale on Halloween night itself, Saturday 31 October, when the park will stay open until 9:00pm for the all-new Safari Skies Drone Show. The 12-minute night sky spectacle will feature hundreds of illuminated drones forming wildlife-inspired imagery choreographed to light and music above the park.
