An ancient and mythical kingdom will be uncovered at Chessington
World of Adventures in 2010, as the park unleashes a brand new land
called Wild Asia. Kobra, an awesome new spinning Disk'O Coaster ride, lurks in the jungle next to family favourites including the Monkey Swinger and the Tuk Tuk Turmoil dodgems, with the Lorikeet Lagoon walkthrough aviary and Maharaja’s Market just begging to be explored! New for 2010: Wild Asia ThemeParks-UK were invited to an exclusive VIP and Media preview, here is our review along with a selection of photos:
Wild Asia looks nothing at all like the former Beanoland that it replaces, the huge snakes at either end of Kobra dominate the skyline, the whole area has been opened up and transformed and it will look much more like a jungle once the trees fill out.
Tuk Tuk Turmoil sees the original dodgems back with a brand new look, with an actual Tuk Tuk perched on the roof.
The theming of Maharaja’s Market is impressive, it looks really authentic and a few stalls outside would complete the look.
Even the Jungle Bus has been given a compete makeover, it's a fun little ride for young explorers of Wild Asia.
When all the shops along this parade are open it will be a colourful and bustling hub for eating and shopping. The refreshed Monkey Swinger looks like a giant statue here but it comes to life when in action taking it's riders into the air.
The entrance to Wild Asia sets the tone nicely, acting as a gateway into the ruins but a few more tropical plants would be nice.

A smart entrance sign marks the start of the queue which provides great a place to watch the ride in action before boarding.
There are plenty of picnic tables for those wanting to just relax, take in the atmosphere, and watch the rides all around them.
The large Temple of Mayhem building is quite impressive too and fits in nicely with it's colourful flags.
Inside it is a foam ball blasting experience that even the bigger kids couldn't resist, a place to properly let off steam.
Not just the usual remote control cars here but a specially made Tuk Tuk Rally, a nice touch and a money spinner too!
The inside of Maharaja’s Market is just as impressive as the outside, a great range of gifts an even a real snake.
Up in the air on Monkey Swinger you get some great views over the new land but watch out for the bursts of
water from below!
Lorikeet Lagoon is a highlight of the new land, you can hand feed nectar to the colourful lorikeets which fly all around you.
There are plenty of places to pose for a photo in Wild Asia, like this Tuk Tuk which also doubles up as shelter from the sun!
A grand water fountain sits at the base of Kobra.
The snakes look down over all who enter Wild Asia.
The giant spinning disc reaches the very top of the track.
Kobra is actually much more thrilling than it may first appear, moving quickly from one end of the track to the other.
The angle of the disc becomes pretty extreme at either end, and as it rotates it creates a unique swirling sensation.

Depending on where you sit you get a different ride experience, the seats are comfy and everyone gets to be 'at the front'.

The long track stretches for almost the entire length of Wild Asia and will soon be surrounded by greenery as the plants grow.
This elephant sometimes talks to you or squirts water!
The treehouse in this enchanted tree provides a great centrepiece. Another elephant statue adds to the already impressive theming.

Special touches like this are almost Disney-like, great work Chessington.

The entrance to Lorikeet Lagoon is tucked away at the back of Wild Asia so make sure that you don't miss it.
The walkthrough aviary features a waterfall and pond with a variety of
birds that you can get up close to. Even the entrances to the park have been given a new look as part of the their ambition to become Britain's Wildest Adventure and if the quality of Wild Asia is anything to go by then the future looks very bright for Chessington. We look forward to seeing more new lands develop over the next few years making the park into an even bigger and better World of Adventures.
