New for 2013: Winston Ride in Thomas Land2013 promises to be another big year for Drayton Manor, with the hugely
popular Thomas Land celebrating its fifth anniversary and a new Thomas
& Friends ride also being unveiled in the summer.
Winston Ride will be based on the track inspection vehicle from the popular TV series and is set to offer riders views across Thomas Land from the monorail type attraction which is currently under construction at the park.
This will be the second new ride for Thomas Land since the attraction opened in March 2008, following the introduction of Blue Mountain Engines in 2011. Thomas Land currently has a range of family friendly rides based on characters such as Thomas the Tank Engine, Cranky the Crane and the Troublesome Trucks. There are also indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as a shop and café.
For thrill seeking visitors there’s the adrenaline-inducing, 54-metre high drop tower, Apocalypse, the skin-soaking Stormforce 10 and petrifying gondola swing, Pandemonium, which guarantees to turn your world upside down.
Younger visitors will love the 4D Cinema, which is this year showing A Fish Story. The musical film, about a fish named Deepo, takes you on a journey to the depths of the ocean, encountering many different sea creatures along the way, such as lively dolphins, stinging jellyfish, kind-hearted sharks and singing sea turtles.
Drayton Manor, the UK’s biggest independently owned theme park, welcomes over 1.2 million visitors every year.
