Festive Days Out at Alton Towers in 2020

Alton Towers will be open for local guests to enjoy a festive day out with a selection of rides and attractions for families, including CBeebies Land!

Experience the magical Garden Lights Walk: Twinkling Stars, Festive Lantern Trail, a panto performance of Robin Hood and music from The Sheriff of Nottingham’s Musical Players, plus roasted chestnuts and toasted marshmallows!

Festive Days Out will include:

  • A range of outdoor family rides, including CBeebies LandMutiny Bay, Spinball Whizzer and Cuckoo Cars
  • A full length (45 minute) panto performance of Robin Hood on the outdoor stage in Fountain Square
  • Between shows, there’ll be a full set of seasonal music from The Sheriff of Nottingham’s Musical Players
  • There’ll also be roving carol singers and Elves for added atmosphere throughout the afternoon
  • Garden Lights Walk: Twinkling Stars - with its stretching lawns, vibrant beds and stunning conservatories the Alton Towers Gardens are well worth a visit in the daylight but wait until nightfall to be dazzled by shimmering lights.
  • Festive Lantern Trail - follow the enchanting trail of lights through a secret path that will lead you to the most fantastical corners of the Gardens, down Storybook Lane where you will walk through the pages of some of the most beloved and magical fairy tales of all time!
  • A free visit to see Santa in his Grotto including a gift for each child

Please note that Alton Towers is in Staffordshire, which is a Tier 3 area. Alton Towers is a COVID-secure venue and your safety is their top priority, so they have worked closely with the local public health team to ensure that the Festive Days Out event complies with the latest Government guidance and the rules for a Tier 3 area. Attractions and entertainment are subject to change if the Government guidelines change. Please do not visit if you live outside the local area.

As the event is largely outdoors, please ensure that you come wrapped up warm. Why not bring a blanket?! As they are unable to open the indoor attractions at the moment please remember that there is nowhere to warm up. Please visit in groups of 6 people or less, but remain within your household when inside any of the shops or food and drink outlets. Please ensure that you observe social distancing at all times, and wear masks in the places where it’s required.
