New for 2019: Room on the Broom - A Magical Journey

New for 2019: Room on the Broom - A Magical Journey

Chessington World of Adventures has announced that a new family attraction based on Julia Donaldson's Room on the Broom will open at the theme park in 2019.

Room on the Broom – A Magical Adventure will be replacing the Hocus Pocus Hall attraction.

Visitors to the theme park will be able to experience the much-loved children’s story come to life as they visit the enchanted library and walk through the pages of the book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

'Help the Witch as her hat, bow and wand are sent tumbling to the ground. Encounter the Dog, Bird and Frog on your journey. Search high and low in the trees, fields and reeds. Brave the Dragon, who fancies ‘Witch and chips’ for his tea!'

It is the second attraction at Chessington World of Adventures based on a children's book by British author Julia Donaldson, following the opening of The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure in 2017.

Tim Harrison-Jones, Divisional Director at Chessington World of Adventures:

"Following the success of The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure, we are excited as we hope our guests will be, to unveil our plans for another Julia Donaldson-inspired attraction and we can’t wait to open the doors to the enchanted library next year."

 Julia Donaldson:

"It’s lovely that families will be able to enter the Room on the Broom world and enjoy the story in a new way at Chessington World of Adventures."

There will also be two Room on the Broom themed bedrooms at the Chessington Safari Hotel.
