Easter at UK Theme Parks in 2019

It's finally spring, which means that once again theme parks across the UK are opening their doors for another season of family fun and epic thrills. There are plenty of special events at UK theme parks during the Easter school holidays in 2019.

Here's our pick of all the highlights, including where to get your tickets or book a short break.

GameFX at Thorpe Park

Catch your favourite gamers battling it out in the relentless action of the live-streaming arena, immerse yourself in nostalgia as you reignite your childhood in the retro gaming lounge and defy your senses and push yourself to the limit as you engage with the latest virtual reality tech.

All gamers and thrillseekers alike are invited to join in at the Lake View marquee for an event like no other! From the 6th April - 31st May, GameFX will be included in your park ticket*! You will need to book onto a time slot after purchase, or through the app on the day!

Chessington becomes Wonder Park

Chessington World of Adventures Resort will become Wonder Park this Easter to celebrate the release of the highly anticipated animated movie. The animation starring Jennifer Garner, Mila Kunis and Ken Jeong tells the story of an amusement park where the imagination of a wildly creative girl named June comes alive.

The theme park will celebrate its new look with a host of activities inspired by the film, which is released in 2D and 3D cinemas on Monday 8th April, with characters voiced by UK talent, Tom Baker as lovable bear Boomer and Joe Sugg and Casper Lee as mischievous beavers Gus and Cooper.

Boomer will be on hand to greet guests from until Monday 22nd April, as families also get to design their own Wonder Chimp for the chance to win a bundle of Wonder Park goodies; add their mark to a giant colouring wall; and experience a virtual reality roller-coaster game, all at the Wonder Park Hut.

Little monsters are invited to join the frightfully friendly Lord Vampyre for a monstrous party at his spooky new haunted home.

Young party guests will be greeted by LEGO brick gargoyles and talking statues, plus LEGO bunting, banners and balloons.

Inside Lord Vampyre’s Haunted House, families will take their seats at a banquet table in a magnificent hall, brimming with ghastly monster party food, cauldrons, potion bottles and goblets.

Once sitting comfortably, Lord Vampyre will reveal his magical party trick – bringing the banquet hall swinging to life and turning the room upside down!

Eggs-ellent Easter at Drayton Manor

Create fun family memories all holiday this Easter. Easter at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is gearing up for another cracking Easter with an egg-stravaganza of fun and egg-citement for the whole family. The famous amusement park will be open daily throughout the Easter holidays and its not just the amazing line up of rides for you to enjoy – there are shows and activities taking place each day.

Between Saturday 13th and Monday 22nd April there will be Easter activities taking place each day at FY4, next to the Spectacular Dancing Water Show. The whole area will be filled with egg-citing games, activities and shows. Each day will see six different eggs-clusive games played and that's no YOKE!

There will be a live Easter egg-stravaganza with the "HOP 'N' BOP" show featuring Bradley and Bella Beaver. Youngsters can also try their hand at egg decorating and Easter bonnet making with prizes to be won daily and of course lots of Easter Eggs. You wont be able to control your egg-citement.

On Saturday 20th April, the first Late Night Riding and Fireworks event of the year takes place. Ride into the night on the UK’s tallest coaster, The Big One, check out the twists and turns of ICON at twilight, enjoy a night race on the Grand National or take a night flight into the dusk on Red Arrows Skyforce. From 10pm that night, the skies will be lit up by an amazing fireworks display with a fantastic musical soundtrack.

The Ultimate Easter Adventure at Lightwater Valley

Lightwater Valley will be open for the Easter Holidays from Saturday 6th - Sunday 28th April.

Younger visitors will be able to enjoy the brand new ‘Outer Space’ themed Magic Lights Puppet Show in the Show Barn, with three shows a day throughout the holidays.

Meet Jester and Jasmine, the park’s all-new cuddly dinosaur mascots as they meet and greet families from 3pm and join in as they entertain the crowds with their choreographed dance shows including their favourite hit song, Baby Shark.

Riggmoor Farm will be at the park throughout the whole holiday period giving visitors the chance to meet lambs, calves, donkeys, an alpaca, rabbits, chicks and chickens and pygmy goats.

Budding buccaneers will want to have a go at the pirate themed treasure trail egg hunt around the park over the Easter weekend (Friday 19th – Monday 22nd April).

Follow the clues on the treasure map around the park to track down letters then spell out the word correctly to collect a chocolatey prize, but beware of the pesky pirates on the way who will be trying to guard their loot.

There will be pirate-themed face painting over the Easter weekend too!

Hoppy Easter at Paultons Park

5th - 23rd April 2019

Guests will be able to meet cute characters at the main entrance plaza. Come and say hello Bobtail Bunny and his forest friends, Betty Bunny, Hennie the Hedgehog and Red the Deer. Watch out for mischievous Fenton Fox though, as he will surely be eyeing up any tasty Easter treats you may have! Guaranteed to put a spring in your step the park entrance will also be festooned for Easter with colourful giant Easter Eggs and Bunnies at every turn.

Egg-Spress at Pleasurewood Hills

Pleasurewood Hills has revealed that the former Rattlesnake roller coaster will return to the park in 2019 as the Egg-Spress.

The family theme park in Lowestoft revealed last month that the Rattlesnake roller coaster would return for the 2019 season, but with a twist.

The twist has been revealed as a new name and theme for the refurbished Zierer Tivoli roller coaster.

Easter Eggstravaganza at West Midland Safari Park

13th - 28th April 2019

Staff at West Midland Safari Park are busy putting together the finishing touches for their annual Easter Eggstravaganza event.

From 13th - 28th April, over 50 giant, brightly-coloured eggs will be popping up all over the park’s walk-through areas. These will form part of an Eggsplorer’s Trail, where guests will be invited to help find the missing eggs, to be rewarded with a chocolate treat.

There will also be an exclusive competition, which involves guests taking a picture with the final egg on the trail and posting it to Facebook, to be in with the chance of winning a Family Annual Pass.

Keepers will ensure that the animals will be involved in the Easter fun too, by treating them to some Easter-themed enrichment. In preparation for the event, the park's sea lions were introduced to a giant egg of their own, whereas the African lions had papier-mâché eggs, filled with meat.

Families can enjoy all of the Easter fun included as part of the standard admission charge.

Easter at Dreamland with Camp Bestival

Dreamland Margate is joining forces with the UK’s favourite family festival this Easter. The park reopens in full on Saturday 6th April and is starting the season with a full park takeover by the one and only Camp Bestival for the school holidays!

From 6th to 22nd April, Camp Bestival will bring a taste of its much-loved family festival down to the seaside, with some amazing features planned plus a mammoth family party on Easter Sunday 21st April. Oh, and we mentioned that the park is free to enter, right? Woop woop!

Eggstreme Easter at Woodlands Park

6th - 22nd April 2019

Take part in the Easter egg hunts throughout the park, craft workshops and interesting animal activities. Travel through a land of chocolate heaven to meet the Easter Bunny in his very own grotto! The Fizz Pop Science team are there with exciting slime and science workshops for all on Friday 12th & Friday 19th April. Explosive Easter at Flambards Theme Park

6th - 22nd April 2019

Younger visitors can enjoy experiments, explosions and a chocolate egg trail as part of an action-packed Easter at Flambards Theme Park in Helston, Cornwall.

The attraction is fully open throughout the holidays and will be running an ‘Explosive Easter’ event with a team of madcap scientists staging a series of explosive fun experiments in their indoor laboratory.

Youngsters can even have a go making gunge with the scientists. The 30-minute shows are at 1pm and 3pm daily.

On April 21st Flambards’ foxy mascot Ferdi will be leading the BIG Easter Egg Quiz Trail, find the clues dotted around the park, then hand in your quiz sheet for a chocolate egg.

The park’s award-winning indoor Victorian Village is staging its own quiz trail too!

'Egg'cellent fun at Adventure Wonderland this Easter

6th - 22nd April 2019

There's loads of 'egg'cellent fun to be had at Adventure Wonderland in the Easter holidays, including meeting PJ Masks’ Catboy and Luna Girl, as the crime-fighting superheroes are making their first visit to the park on 17th April and are sure to be a big hit.

Enjoy the rides and attractions plus a new show in the Happydrome Theatre. And, every day over the bank holiday weekend, there'll be egg and spoon races and Easter egg hunts in the giant hedge maze.

Visitors can also meet the pint-sized ponies in the new Shetland World, where they’ll have the opportunity to pat and stroke them.

There’s also the vast indoor Aztec adventure play centre, Wild Thing! including the brand new interactive Jungle Zap Zone!
