3 Year 'Towers Loving Care' Programme

Alton Towers announced a new three year improvement plan back in December 2015, called Towers Loving Care (TLC), and we're now starting to see some of progress from across the theme park.

In addition to adding new attractions, restaurants, shops and entertainment, maintaining and enhancing the existing rides and areas is a big part of keeping Alton Towers so magical.

2016 is the first year of the Towers Loving Care scheme, which includes everything from repainting whole areas of the park, relaying pathways and improving signage, to complete redesigns or refurbishment of attractions.

Make sure you follow the Towers Loving Care on Twitter to keep up to date with all the latest developments, but we've included a gallery of the work so far below.

  • New roofs at admissions
  • Ice Age 4D Experience queue line has a fresh coat of paint in a new colour
  • Woodcutter's Bar & Grill has a fresh new external look
  • Frog Hopper building is being re-rendered before new scenic paintwork is applied
  • Nemesis track is having a complete repaint at a cost of over £120,000. The track has been shotblast to base metal, inspected and a base coat applied before scenic painting
  • Nemesis station is undergoing a phased refurbishment too
  • Pizza & Pasta is having some TLC with refreshed paint work inside and outside
  • The TLC team have moved into the Dark Forest for some serious works

As part of this project there will also be changes to the line up of rides and attractions at Alton Towers in 2016, including The Flume and Ripsaw, which have both been retired. In addition: Hex, Nemesis Sub-Terra, Charlie and the Chocolate FactoryDriving School and Wobble World won't be available for the start of the 2016 season.
