Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach Big Wheel

Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach has announced the addition of a Big Wheel for the 2016 season, offering panoramic views of Great Yarmouth's Golden Mile.

The 33m (108ft) observation wheel will be located by the boating lake at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach and is due to arrive on 14th March for installation, ready to open for Easter on 24th March.

It is not the first time that a Big Wheel has operated at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, with a 40m model in 2008 and a 36m version in 2009, both called The Yarmouth Wheel.

The new ride is being provided by the Elegant Wheel Company, and has previously been located at the Olympic Park in London for the 2012 Summer Olympics, at Leicester Square in London last Christmas and outside Birmingham’s new central library in previous years.

Tickets for the Big Wheel are due to cost £5 for adults and £4 for children, with family discounts and OAP reductions expected to be announced shortly.

Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach occupies nine acres on the seafront, and features the classic Roller Coaster scenic railway which opened in 1932.
