Review: Dr. Fright's Halloween Nights 2019

Dr. Fright’s Halloween Nights returns for 2019 with a very special 10th year event, so we were excited to be experiencing it for the first time.

The legendary event features four adrenaline fuelled attractions, ranging from re-imagined fan favourites from Dr. Fright’s past, to terrifying new experiences. Once again taking place all at a giant all indoor venue in Earls Barton, Northants.

The line up of mazes this year includes a harrowing journey through dense dark woods in There’s Something In The Woods, a cannibal hillbilly / wild west mash up awaits you inside Redneck Redemption, Killer Clowns On A Spaceship promises terrifying, intergalactic clown craziness and Hollywood Horror returns with a 'Directors Cut' featuring new twists on some iconic scenes from previous events.

  • There’s Something In The Woods - Discover a terrifying presence that is possessing the nuns and students at St. Agatha's Boarding School. But beware... the evil that lurks here will stop at nothing to devour your soul! It's creepy, dark, foggy and features a couple of particularly strong scenes that really ramp up the tension and deliver some huge jump scares.

  • Redneck Redemption - There's moonshine and carnage galore in this special 10th year edition of The Grindhouse. Encounter murderous, chainsaw wielding hillbillies like never before, as you venture through an old abandoned mining town. You can see the majority from the start, including the finale, which for us let it down, but the cast were brilliant and gave us some great interactions.

  • Killer Clowns On A Spaceship - The Killer Clowns are back... and for the 10th year these deranged circus rejects have gone intergalactic! Prepare for adrenaline pumping, cosmic clown insanity. Unlike any other clown maze we've experienced, and some of the clowns were genuinely disturbing. A brilliant 80s soundtrack really enhanced the mixture of fun and fright.

  • Hollywood Horror - A fan favourite returns! Step inside the movies and come face to face with horror's most feared creations! This 10th year 'Directors Cut' provides new twists on some of the best scenes from previous Hollwood Horror mazes and also new additions. By far our favourite attraction, featuring more jump scares than in any other scare maze we've done this year. The attacks by legendary killers from Halloween, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Psycho, Scream and IT were relentless.

After surviving all four attractions you can enjoy a few drinks in the Horror Bar while watching others experience them on live 'scare cams'.

The team behind Dr. Fright’s Halloween Nights are clearly fanatical about horror movies, and have used their knowledge of the genre to create a brilliantly distinctive event.

We were guests of the attraction for the purposes of this review.

Dr. Fright’s Halloween Nights continues until 2nd November 2019. Tickets are still on sale, go to www.drfrights.com
